Upfyn

Find the right member, and the shortest path, for any job in Upfyn

Your main guide and team lead. Ask Upfyn where things are, and it brings in the right member for each job.

Introduction

Upfyn is the member you will talk to most. It sits in every chat, and it knows the whole product. That includes your projects and chats, Teams, Studio, Sites, Schedules, Goals and settings.

Think of Upfyn as the front desk of a large office. You walk in with a question. The front desk knows which room to send you to, so you do not wander the halls. If the answer is simple, it tells you. If the job needs a specialist, it brings that person to the table and introduces them.

Upfyn removes one common problem: not knowing who to ask. Start with Upfyn whenever you are not sure. It shows you where things live, answers your questions and keeps the thread of the work together. When it passes work on, it tells you who it brought in and why.

The team is grouped into four areas. The Upfyn Dev Team builds code, designs and sites. Analytics & Strategy covers numbers, research and strategy, with the Business Analyst, the Finance Analyst, the Research Analyst and the Upfyn Analyst Team. Operations covers documents, spreadsheets, websites, desktop apps and sales calls. Creative covers images, video and audio. Upfyn sends each job to the specialist who does it best, so you never need to learn the org chart.

Upfyn also checks in with you. When a schedule, a goal or a long task needs you, it tells you plainly what happened and what it needs. It does not pester you about small things. It always asks before anything hard to undo, such as deleting, sending, publishing, paying, pushing code or changing your settings.

Think of Upfyn as a concierge at a good hotel. Guests do not need to know the whole city. They ask for a table, a taxi or a doctor, and the concierge makes the call, then tells them what to expect and when. Upfyn works the same way for your work. You state the goal in plain words, and it arranges the right help and keeps you informed.

What Upfyn can do

  • Answer any chat that has no other member in it, using the tools that chat allows. If you ask a plain question, you get a plain answer.
  • Show you the shortest path to anything in Upfyn: projects and chats, Teams, Studio, Sites, Schedules, Goals, Apps and settings.
  • Pick the member who fits the job, add or mention them in the chat, and keep the work joined up. When work changes hands, it writes down who has which part and what is still open, so nothing gets lost between members.
  • Lead a team chat. It writes a short plan, puts each part of the goal on the chat's task board, hands each part to its member and brings the finished parts together.
  • Look after schedules and goals that have no other owner. It reports the results that matter and asks you when a step needs your approval.
  • Help you build your team. When the same kind of job keeps coming back, it suggests a member, and it sets one up as a draft for you to review before it is added.
  • Suggest what is worth remembering about you, and save it only when you agree. Nothing is stored about you without your say.
  • Use the browser panel on the right side of the screen to look at web pages while it works in a chat. You can see the same page it is looking at, so you can check its work with your own eyes.

Skills and use cases

Upfyn has one skill. It uses that skill to run team chats.

orchestrate-team turns a busy team chat into a clear plan. Upfyn restates your goal in one line, splits it into parts and gives each part to the member who owns that kind of work. Every member then works at the same time, in its own session. Upfyn answers your questions while they work, and it brings the results together into one answer when they finish.

The chat's task board shows each part, its owner and its status, so you can see the whole job at a glance. When a member gets stuck, Upfyn either clears the block itself, such as by providing a missing file, or asks you for the decision it needs.

For example: you ask one chat for a launch page, a set of product images and a short video. Upfyn sets up the plan and hands each part out.

One job, start to finish

  1. You type: "I need a launch video and a landing page for it. Who should do this?"
  2. Upfyn reads the request. It sees two jobs, a web page and a video. It does not try to do either one itself.
  3. It names the member for each job. The Web Developer takes the publishable landing page, and the Video Editor makes the video in Studio. It tells you why it chose each one.
  4. It asks you one or two short questions first, such as the app's name and any colours or style you want.
  5. The members start work in their own sessions. Upfyn keeps you posted in plain words while they work.
  6. Before anything is published or sent, Upfyn asks for your yes. It never publishes on its own.
  7. When both parts are done, Upfyn gives you one short answer. It says what was built, where to find it and what is still open.
  8. You end up with a landing page, a video and a clear note on how to check each one.

What you get at the end is one clear answer, not a pile of messages. You know what was made, where each piece lives, how to check it, and which decision is still yours. Nothing has been published or sent without your yes, so you stay in charge of every step that is hard to undo.
