What is Upfyn?
Upfyn is not a coding agent. It is a local-first coordination layer whose execution engine runs on your own machine. It does not replace your apps; it replaces the work of carrying context and approved actions between them.
Voice is the front door. Ask for analysis, research, a document, a scheduled job or development work in ordinary language. The assistant coordinates the relevant files, browser, connected apps and machine tools.
Analyst keeps analysis and everyday work inside a simpler, output-scoped workspace. Developer lets the same assistant coordinate the full project, terminal, browser, Git, review and specialist tools.

Install
Download the Windows desktop app, sign in, and choose a folder for the work.

Use Analyst for analysis and everyday work, or Developer when the conversation needs the full project and development tools.

The desktop is the engine
Your project, tools and execution stay anchored to your computer. Browser and phone access relay to that machine rather than creating a second cloud worker.
The control layer coordinates
Upfyn carries context and work across files, the browser, connected services and specialist tools while models remain replaceable.
Authority stays visible
Modes, write boundaries, tool permissions and approvals define what the assistant may do. When authority is missing, it stops and asks.
Local-first does not mean every model call is offline. Local models keep the full turn on the computer; cloud models receive the context needed for that turn. Your desktop remains the execution engine either way.

Analyst mode
A simpler workspace for research, content, documents and recurring work. It can read the project, use connected tools and write only inside the project output folder.
Developer mode
Talk through development work while the same assistant coordinates project files, terminal, browser, Git review, side chats and specialist tools.
Browser and connected apps
Use a signed-in browser or authorize a connector inside the chat, then continue the same conversation with those tools available.
Scheduled work
Create recurring jobs from Analyst. Temporal keeps the schedule durable while the desktop remains the machine that performs the work.
Models stay replaceable
Use UpfynAI, your own provider key, a local model, or a supported CLI subscription.
Extend it
Connect MCP servers, skills, plugins and custom agents without turning each capability into a separate product.
