Most visual work comes in two shapes. Sometimes you need a single piece: a product photo, a six-second teaser, a voiceover. Sometimes you need something with structure: a pitch deck, a one-page brief, a signup flow, a whole website. Upfyn gives each shape its own place.
Studio is for the pieces. Creative is for the things you assemble from them.
Studio: images, video and audio
Open Studio in the left rail. It opens on Images, with Videos and Audio beside it and the Library above them.
Images
Describe the image and send it. Before you do, you can pick the aspect ratio (Auto, square, wide or tall), add a reference picture, turn on thinking so it plans before it makes, or let it search the web for what it needs. Every image opens as a chat, so you change it by asking:
Same bottle, but on warm stone instead of marble, and leave space on the left for a headline.
Video
Describe a clip, choose its length (four to ten seconds) and its shape, and start from a picture if you have one. Short clips work best for openers, loops and social posts.
Audio
Make voice clips with the voices on your computer, or choose Write an audio script to have the Audio member draft the words first. Clips you save land in the Library.
Templates
Studio comes with templates such as an editorial headshot, a clean product packshot, a typography-led event poster, a logo reveal, a day-to-night timelapse and a short ad spot. Pick one, change what you need and try it.
The Library
Everything you and your members make lands in one Library: images, videos and voice clips. Search it, sort it into folders and favourites, filter by who made it, download a piece, or choose Chat about this to start a new chat from it.
Creative: decks, documents and designs
Creative opens in its own window, with its own agent session, and starts with one question: What should we create?
Start from a sentence or a file
Type what you want, or start from a template: Slides, Document, Wireframe, Mobile app design, UI mockups, Diagram, Flier, Résumé, HTML email, Website, Research and more. You can attach a brief, reference another project, link your local code, bring in a Figma frame, or generate an image right on the board.
Every project has its own chat. You shape it the way you would brief a designer: "Make slide three about the price story and move the bottle to the cover."
Your design system
Set up a design system once: your colours, type and parts. Mark one as the default, and every new project picks it up. You can also save any project as a template, so next quarter's deck starts from this quarter's.
Present and share
Creative can Present in the tab with speaker notes in their own window, go fullscreen, or open the deck in a new window. Export downloads it as a PDF, PowerPoint, a picture, an HTML email, a standalone web page, the project files or a video.
How they work together
A typical launch uses both:
- In Studio, make the product images and a short teaser. They land in the Library.
- In Creative, start a pitch deck on your design system and add the images from the Library.
- Make a one-page launch site in Creative from the same material.
- Export the page and present the deck to the team.
Because both keep their work in one place, the next version starts from what you already made instead of from scratch.
Getting good results
A few habits make the first result closer to what you wanted:
- Describe the use, not just the subject. "A packshot for a product page, with space on the left for the price" gives better framing than "a bottle".
- Pick the shape first. Choose square, wide or tall before you send, so the composition is made for where it will be used.
- Use a reference picture when you need a specific product, place or style, instead of describing it in more words.
- Change one thing at a time. Ask for the background, then the light, then the angle. It is easier to see what each change did.
- Keep the good ones. Add the pieces you will reuse to a folder or to your favourites in the Library, so you find them again in Creative.
For decks and documents, write the brief before the first draft: who it is for, what they should decide, and the three points that matter. Creative works best when the structure is right before the polish.
Ask Upfyn
Use this prompt in Upfyn Desktop to plan your next piece of visual work:
I need material for a launch. Ask me what we are launching and who it is for, then list which pieces I should make in Studio and which in Creative. Suggest the templates to start from and the order to make them in, and wait for my go-ahead before making anything.
